The Chayse West Legacy is a charity organisation that is dedicated to supporting bereaved families like ours.

Sadly our beautiful, cheeky, full of life 18 year old son was killed in September 2022, in a hit and run. We had two days with our Chayse, in hospital where he was pronounced brain stem dead caused by catastrophic head injuries. We quickly began to realise that there is minimal support once your child reaches 18, (they are still our babies after all) in the way of financial support.

Researching, we have come to learn that there is minimal support for grieving parents full stop. Our mission is to support grieving parents going through this nightmare that has been thrust upon them. From funeral costs to other financial support. Not all families are lucky enough to have family and friends like ours, without whom, we would have no doubt been plunged into debt to pay for Chayse’s funeral, had the added worry of where the next pay cheque was coming from (we were both self employed). They enabled us in the aftermath to focus on grieving being with our other two boys and just trying to get through the following days, minutes, seconds………
